The Frank Anthony Public School Lajpat Nagar Delhi

The pinkish red building of the Frank Anthony Public School designed by the well-known German architect, Mr. Heinz is a striking contrast to the lush green lawns that it overlooks. Founded in 1959 by the late Mr. Frank Anthony, the school was administered by the All-India Anglo-Indian Education Institution, Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The school is coeducational and today has about 3300 boys and girls on the rolls from classes Nursery, Preparatory right up to Class XII.

The School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, which was at that time in liaison with the Cambridge Syndicate. Housed in four beautiful buildings, this coeducational school today has about 3300 students on the rolls right from Nursery and Preparatory upto Class XII. The infrastructure of the school consists of large spacious classrooms that are well ventilated and well illuminated. Then, there are Sophisticated and well equipped laboratories for physics, biology and computers. The school insists on Computer training as being compulsory from Classes I to VIII but has kept it optional for Class IX to XII. The school has two computer laboratories provides the students with Thin Clients that function on Linux and Windows where each system is provided with Internet connectivity. Most of the learning in the junior section is done through educational software packages. Difficult concepts in the senior school likewise, are made easy through CD- ROMs. The school has a well-equipped senior and a Junior Library, which includes a range of Indian and international books apart from periodicals encyclopedias reference books classics and fiction.

The school laid equal emphasis on academics as well as on co- and extra-curricular activities and offered Music, Art and dance apart from Dramatics, Debate, Symposiums, Declamation, Elocution, Art and Craft, Talent Development, Quiz, NCC, Scouts, Guides and cubs. The Multipurpose Complex was constructed to encourage sports like Basketball, Tennis, Badminton and martial arts like Karate. A separate play ground is set aside for the Pre-Primary Section with facilities for the Tiny-Tots.
The School follows the Public School System and still maintains an organized Prefectural and Monitorial System headed by the four main office bearers: The Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl to maintain discipline with the four Houses Captains.
